Technical Service Specialist / Field Service Technician

Betatek Inc. is looking for a motivated Technical Service Specialist / Field Service Technician to join our team. This role involves servicing, repairing, installing, and supporting laboratory instrumentation for customers across Canada.
We are looking for someone with strong technical aptitude, good customer service skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Experience with electronics repair, field service, or lab equipment is required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, service, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Perform installations, calibrations, preventative maintenance, and validation testing.
- Provide customer support by phone, email, and on-site visits.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Manage service requests from intake through completion.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, manufacturers, and internal team members.
- Travel to customer sites across Canada as required.
Attend manufacturer training, including occasional travel to the United States.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electronics, Biomedical, or related technical field required.
- Must have at least 2–5 years of experience in field service, electronics repair, technical support, or lab equipment service.
- Strong troubleshooting and hands-on repair skills.
- Comfortable using diagnostic tools, multimeters, hand tools, and service software.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Valid Canadian passport or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to occasionally lift equipment up to 25 kgs with assistance if needed.
