Flow Sciences Contained Environments

Flow Sciences, Inc. introduces a new series of products to provide tools for process engineers in the powder handling markets. These products are ideal for the pharmaceutical and the emerging nanotechnology industry to provide environments which allow work to be done where temperature, humidity, aseptic working conditions, and personnel protection are required.

The series is comprised of three different lines of products that can be separately purchased or can be utilized together to provide the proper combination to achieve the process goal.

  • THCE - Temperature and Humidity Contained Environments
  • CACE - Controlled Atmosphere Contained Environments
  • VACE - Vented Atmosphere Contained Environments

The systems combine patented devices produced by Flow Sciences, Inc., products that are sourced and combining them with a digital control technology designed by Flow Sciences as well. The control system provides alarm and control of all parameters within the system and can provide data to central systems to meet regulatory requirements.

Vented Atmosphere Contained Environments

This trademarked containment enclosure is a sealed environment with ergonomically designed glove ports. HEPA filtered low-flow air sweeps laterally across the sample service, providing a clean environment for product protection. The HEPA filtered air can then be recirculated safely back into the laboratory or connected to house exhaust providing personnel protection.

The materials of construction can be polypropylene, acrylic, stainless steel, and safety glass depending on the clients wants and needs.

Vented Safety Enclosure With Removable Glove Ports

Flow Sciences can manufacture and/or retrofit an existing ventilated enclosure with glove ports. An acrylic or polypropylene panel fitted with 8", 10", round, oval, or custom sized glove ports is attached to the open face of the vented safety enclosure. The glove ports allow for an additional level of personnel protection when dealing with API's or other lab chemicals.

This polypropylene enclosure was originally designed for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) equipment and later retrofitted for dispensing, weighing, and manipulation of active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Hand crank and electric lift tables are available now from Flow Sciences. The lift tables allow for better ergonomic interaction for lab operators.
